Letter from our Executive Director

Dear Residents and Families,

Welcome to Hillside Health Care Center. I am pleased you have chosen Hillside as your health care provider, whether it be for temporary rehabilitation, Hospice respite, memory care, or long term care. As Executive Director, my mission is to create an environment in which residents and their family and friends feel the genuine dedication of Hillside’s staff members.

We have a set of values that are the foundation of our community, they describe the HEART of how we want to work and live together.

Home: We believe in providing an environment that is filled with love, laughter, and spontaneity.

Empowerment: We believe in respecting individual choices and the right to make decisions about daily routines.

Appreciation: We respect each person’s individuality and unique gifts.

Relationships: We believe that the quality of each relationship we form between family, residents, staff, and community is what makes Hillside a special place to live and work.

Teamwork: We believe that working in a team environment we will achieve a consistently higher standard of quality care and quality of life.

It is my belief the residents we serve are willing to share a wealth of wisdom and memories full of love, laughter, and joy. When we take the time, these precious moments with the residents create emotional memories that will be in our hearts for many years to come. Developing relationships between residents and staff fosters compassion, understanding, and builds a strong foundation for the next generation who will need our services.

Through the ever-changing technology, we are able to create new ways in which we care for our residents. We seek to use these advancements in treatment of resident’s health, as well as in our Life Enrichment Program. I believe by staying informed, keeping up with technology and education, along with keeping an open mind, we can continue with the culture change that has begun in the skilled nursing field over the past decade. Those of us who will need skilled nursing care ten or twenty years from now will look back and be amazed that even with all the new technology, CARE still comes down to one person loving and giving of themselves to another. This is the HEART of what I desire for all who reside at Hillside Health Care Center.

When you are at Hillside Health Care Center we are family. Your desires and ideas in how we care for you or your loved ones are very important to us. Please feel free to share ideas with me anytime – my door is always open. You may also take the opportunity at your quarterly care conference, where we can brainstorm together to create better ways of caring for our residents.

I am personally blessed in my profession and find great joy and satisfaction in serving our residents. As Executive Director, I am responsible for all that happens at Hillside and am honored to be in this role, as well as honored to work with a team whose efforts makes it a success.
